6 years of development and a finally some brand new screenshots of what might be one of the most interesting mod for Half Life 2: a Half Life 1 remake! The mod should be released soon.

Black Messa: Source, a Half-Life 2 mod in preparation since 6 years is… still in development! But we can be satisfied: new screenshots have been released!

The Black Messa should be a remake of Half-Life with the latest version of Valve’s Source Engine. We have reached 6 years of development: much longer than Half-Life 2 itself which was pretty long.

Black Mesa: Source is a community driven mod for Half-Life 2, it's had high and low points in development from sabotage and times when the dev numbers fell to all-time lows. They've always said that they'll be moving the game out soon because they want people to know they're working as hard as they can in their free time on the project.

People are devoting time and energy as they can to the mod and there is no payout for the game. It's free labor and it will be a free product for all so just as their page says it will be finished when it gets finished. I have to admire how far the team has gotten on their own using original assets from the ground up.

They could at least get the name of the game right in their article. Black Mesa: Source not Messa. Also where in this article does it actually confirm that it's actually coming soon? It doesn't say anything at all. It's a fluff article putting needless pressure on devs already feeling the strain of such a large project.
