A 30GB hard drive mod for PSP? Cool!

Ever thought of fixing a hard drive to your PSP? Ever thought it wouldn't be possible? No problem. Now it's possible. It's been proved possible by popular Modification website AcidMods. Check it out.

Here's a rather tricky question for all PlayStation Portable owners: Are you willing to sacrifice access to the UMD drive of your Sony handheld in exchange for more internal storage amounting up to 30GB?

Well, if you answered yes, then this mod is for you. Tony Hoang (aka PvP) of popular console modification website AcidMods has just created exactly that. He explained that he initially went for an internal wiring but the circuit gets mess up when he connects it to the PC.

Anyway, here's a video clip below showing the mod we've been talking about. Attempting this kind of mod for those who are not so skilled may cause damage to their units.

AcidMods have some pretty neat mods and stuff, and it would be good to get some extra space for the PSP, but what do I care at this point, I don't even own one [yet]. xD

No UMD-mode, anyone? The cracked Sony drivers are perfect, and M33's drivers are great as well. The only downside is it'd force you into piracy, why else would you need 30GB anyway?

    I believe iRShell uses it's own drivers, but does it really make a difference? The point is, we can emulate no-UMD practically perfectly.

If the harddrive uses up the UMD Drive and the USB input thingy, can it still connect to a computer?

how does thing truly work?;
1. Can you disconnect mini-USB to connect temporarily to computer?
2. Do you have to rip up the drive or can it be safely un-installed?
