Lost in Blue Wii - first N64-alike screenshots images attached to an article

Andrew5 | 13 hours 45 mins ago | News | Wii DS
"After being officially confirmed yesterday, the first proper screenshots of Lost in Blue for the Nintendo Wii have emerged. And if their awful quality is reflective of the gameplay we can expect, we’re not holding out much hope.

Whether these shots are from early development of Lost in Blue Wii or not isn’t clear, but even still, they’re really rather awful. The Nintendo Wii has been around for a year and a half now (and developers will have had kits to create games before then), so why so..."

PS3 firmware update 2.35 improves stabilty of some PS3 titles... but not GTA IV?

Silver Mirror | 20 hours 2 mins ago | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Today Sony released firmware update 2.35 for the Playstation 3, the minor update according to Sony fixes stability to several PS3 games. Considering Rockstar's announcement about the freezing problems in GTA IV being Sony's problem you would think this patch would solve the issues.

Unfortunately so far there appears to be no change, however Sony have said that they have identified the issue and are working on a solution. So maybe in the next one?

Mad World screenshots showcase bloody action for Wii images attached to an article

chautemoc | 19 hours 6 mins ago | Previews | Wii
Got a Wii? Got the itch? Mad World will fix you right up. A bloody actionfest with a visual style ripped straight out of the Sin City graphic novels (but hey, who's complaining), it looks like Nintendo has loosened up a bit. Let's just hope there aren't any tearful moments featuring the musical stylings of Gary Jules.

The title is developed by Platinum Games (the developer formerly known as Clover), who created the similar God Hand, the Viewtiful Joe series, and Okami. A trailer was leake...

chautemoc | 11 hours 1 mins ago | Previews | XBOX 360
Creator Peter Molyneux says a demo for Fable 2 is quite unlikely, partly due to the nature of the game. But on the plus side, a bunch of screenshots and a trailer have been released.

Sega and PlatinumGames Partnership Confirmed: Four Games to be Developed

Akira_EX | 16 hours 6 mins ago | Press Release | Playstation 3 Wii Company
The previous rumor of Sega and PlatinumGames purportedly agreeing to a three-game deal is now confirmed by Sega, with the embargo on all related materials now over.

The most interesting fact is that there will now be four games developed by the developer, the former Clover Studio, instead of the original three mentioned. Again, Sega will handle the publishing of all four titles. Other than the three previously-mentioned games (Bayonetta, Infinite Line and MADWORLD), there is a fourth unn...

Sexy Japanese bikini model unintentionally promotes Bape DS images attached to an article

Gothic Girl | 4 hours 53 mins ago | News | Wii DS
It's no secret that Japanese companies use celebrities and popular bikini models to promote their goods. Sony has done it for PSP, Nintendo has done it for their games, and let's not forget the booth babes and show girls that appear at many gaming expos.

These girls are usually paid to look good and act excited while playing a game or console, no matter how awful it might be.

But if you take a look at many Japanese celebrity's blogs, you will often find them talking about their favorite...

Fun review of God of War: Chains of Olympus

vaga_koleso | 19 hours 52 mins ago | Reviews | Playstation Portable
"When it comes to badasses, there are a few specific folks who come to mind. Chuck Norris, with his roundhouse kicks of fury, Steven Segal, with the ponytail of doom, and Martha Stewart and her soul-stealing stare. However, none of these pillars of destruction quite match up to Sparta's greatest warrior, Kratos (Martha Stewart comes awfully close, but I've got to think Kratos could take her so long as she doesn't get the drop on him)."

Infinite Line scans images attached to an article

chautemoc | 18 hours 59 mins ago | Previews | DS
Some scans from Famitsu give us a peek inside another solid-looking sci-fi DS game (first Moon and now this!): Infinite Line. And for those looking for a little role-playing in their science fiction, this one comes with a lot of RPG flavour. The spin on the Active Time Battle system seems particularly interesting: the more full your gauge is in battle, the more actions you have available to you.

Akira_EX | 12 hours 57 mins ago | News | Playstation 3 Wii
From JeuxVideo Magazine comes word of an interview with Michel Ancel, the father of Rayman and creator of Beyond Good & Evil. In the interview, Ancel reveals that he and a team of about 10-12 people are working on the project. However, Ubisoft has not greenlit the project.

Beyond Good & Evil, released in 2003 to critical success, but was a commercial failure, with the game receiving less than satisfactory sales, being sent to die against games like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. T...

Hands-on impressions of Silent Hill: Homecoming

Gothic Girl | 6 hours 55 mins ago | Previews | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Kotaku have recently got their hands on a demo of Silent Hill: Homecoming and they were impressed.

Although many themes seemed to be directly ripped-off from the SH movie (which some fans might be disappointed with), the gameplay, atmosphere and graphics seemed to impress the Kotaku guys.

April 2008 NPD: Nintendo Domination: Wii > PS2+PSP+PS3+360; GTAIV 360: 1.85m, PS3: 1m; MKWii 1.12m

The NPD Group recently released their tracked sales numbers for April 2008, for the four week tracking period that ends on May 3rd, 2008. Many thanks to sonycowboy at NeoGAF and the NPD Group for the numbers.

April saw the release of two major games: Grand Theft Auto IV, which shattered industry records, and Mario Kart Wii, the latest installment in Nintendo's Mario Kart franchise. You would think that there would be strong sales all around for the three current generation consoles, but ...

This is the third week of Nintendo of Europe's Hanabi Festival for the European Virtual Console, where US and Japanese imports are made available to be downloaded. Whether this week will be the last for the Hanabi Festival is unknown, but there's a good chance it will be, given that WiiWare will launch in Europe next week.

After last week's release of Cho Aniki, NoE returns this week to release another three games, two of which are even more shoot-em-ups for the Virtual Console.

The Worst Celebrity Game Renders Of All Time! images attached to an article

Gothic Girl | 1 min ago | Blog | Misc
Rarely do games get celebrity renders right.
There are some amazingly accurate renders, such as Jean Reno from Onimusha 3 or Gackt from FFVII: Crisis Core.

... but most of them aren't quite so good ...

GamesRadar has compiled a list of the worst celebrity renders ever to appear in a game. From Charlie's Angels to Wayne's World, there's an awful celebrity render from almost any movie-to-game adaptation you can think of.

Gothic Girl | 2 mins ago | News | Misc
Remember when Uwe Boll said that his movie Postal will 'destroy Indiana Jones at the box office'? Well if that feat didn't sound ridiculous enough back then, it certainly sounds ridiculous now.
Due to the political content in Boll's most recent game-to-movie adaptation, Postal has been banned from most cinemas in America. He had originally intented it to be released on 1500 screens around America ... It will now only appear on 4 screens.

Reading Boll's press-release where he begs movie e...
