The series has always been on pretty much every console but its been officially announced the latest iteration, Street Fighter IV, is going to head to the PC, 360 and PS3. There has been no date set for release but the game will hit Japanese arcades in late July.

The Street Fighter series has never been terribly exclusive, appearing as it has on the TurboGrafx-16, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Dreamcast, Xbox, and most systems in between. So it comes as no surprise that Capcom's upcoming arcade game Street Fighter IV would eventually find its way to other homes.

The publisher announced today that it will bring Street Fighter IV to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Unfortunately, it did not give any indication as to when the game would arrive on those platforms. Last October, a Capcom representative told GameSpot that the brawler was "more than a year away," although the Japanese arcade edition would eventually be set for a late July debut.

Street Fighter IV is both a departure from and a return to the series' roots. The game eschews the franchise's classic 2D fighting formula in favor of stylized 3D visuals, but the roster of characters includes the entire original cast of Capcom's most successful game of all time, Street Fighter II. PC? Why? That'll work best with people who have a controller compatible with the PC, all 360 owners do, but then what's the point? Live or their PC functions? Of course, mods and such will likely come but meh, fighting games like these are more entertaining console-wise, imo.

I'm surprised it's not for the Wii. It seems possible.

Same here. Specially considering all that bullshit they were feeding nintendo fans about making it for the GBC if they wanted. I'm really disappointed but I can definitely see a possible DS release. Alpha 3 on the GBA played perfectly, so I don't see how it can't work on the DS.

I'm on two minds about this. While it does look cool, I havne't been into Street Fighter since it went 3D. I dunny why, it just lost a lot of it's appeal when it wasn't 2D anymore for me.

Same for me Shane. I'll be hoping it delivers well though, always liked the SF series in general.

Is this a more less-violant version of postal 2?

    I prefer that
