With the Wii having recently crossed the six million mark in system sales in its home territory, it's reasonable to say that one in two Wii owners in Japan picked up Wii Sports with the console. While Wii Sports is bundled with the Wii in America, in Japan it's sold separately for 4,800 yen.

Aside from the Wii getting its first triple platinum game, the week was pretty uneventful as far as sales go, with drops in all numbers, hardware and software.

Topping the software chart for the week was Sega's first DS version of Let's Make a Pro Baseball Team. In its first week, it sold 59,321, good enough to push the big three of the software charts down a notch. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G took second with 51,370 sales, followed by Mario Kart Wii at 47,758 units and Wii Fit at 36,455 units.

The rest of the top ten was all DS and Wii. Nintendo's DS revival of Glory of Hercules came in at 5 with 23,155 units sold in its first week, beating Nintendo's DS handwriting software, DS Bimoji Training, which sold an additional 15,282 units. Hiiro no Kakera DS, from Idea Factory, debuted at 7 with 15,261 units, besting Totsugeki Famicom Wars VS (Nintendo, Wii, 15,123), Meccha! Taiko Drum Master DS Adventure on the 7 Islands (Namco Bandai, DS, 13,762), and Link's Crossbow Training (Nintendo, Wii, 11,757).
