Sony has revealed info on a new PSN game that well, turns your PS3 into a garden. That's right a garden game. But don't click out of the page yet, this game does have a lot of interesting elements to it. You have a level and you choose from a variety of trees to animal life and place them through out your garden to create a spectacular view. The game will also be effected from seasons as well. The game will launch with two gardens and new gardens will be add on's. It is releasing on the Japanese store, no word if other regions will receive the game as well.

Sony announced yesterday the impending release of Shiki-Tei, a new downloadable title for the the PlayStation 3. Basic gist? You get a garden. You grow plants in the garden. Animals hang out in your garden. You can take pictures of your garden. Sort of like Viva Pinata, sans the Pinatas. And that's about it. Won't pull the Unreal Tournament III crowd away from their murderous pastime, but it should prove a nice, relaxing option for the more sedate users amongst the PS3's userbase. At least in Japan, since that's the only place it's being released at the moment. It's due on June 26 for ¥1600, which is around $15.

Well, at least it's original. I don't know, I don't think I'd buy it. I just don't see the attraction of a garden game. Just go outside, people.

This would be great for casual gamers, I'd imagine. It would do well if it had a multiplayer mode, or at least some sort of way to show off your work to friends.

Such a game would also be an interesting candidate for Home integration (for example, actually having your created gardens in your "online home").

Imagine places like australia, or Alaska,or hawaii, or even canada where you don't see gardens like this, or people who are disabled and bed ridden who CAN't go outside. Thats pretty selfish to say "just go look outside",when some can't at all

This game will give those who can't grow their own garden, or observe one as good looking as this, a chance to.

count the population of hawaii+the pop. of alaska,+ the pop. of every single disabled person in the world. The liklihood someone cant go outside,or have access to a beautiful garden with animals and plants? Pretty damn high

It'll stay in Japan I reckon, they like boring games. Like train driving simulators.

Sounds good but not a lot of gamers would like it. I wont get it. Doesn't seem so good, its just a garden game.

If you want a garden, go outside and make one. What good is a virtual garden? It just reminds me of Guitar Hero. Just learn real guitar, it's much more fun.

I live in Australia. We're not allowed to have gardens.

      Think of the poor Aussies!

I also live in Australia. There are plenty of gardens... unless you live in the desert?

Water restrictions. Most people don't have gardens because we aren't allowed to water them. (unless you use grey water).

Oh right. I always forget that everyone else is on water restrictions. The part where I live is one of the only places not in drought. Water is fun.

You don't have to buy this game, you know. All you gotta do is:
    1. Turn PS3 off
    2. Turn TV off
    3. GO OUTSIDE!
    Seriously.

You don't have to play a game to shoot someone, you know. All you gotta do is:

      Buy a gun
      Buy some ammo
      SHOOT A PERSON!

Sorry for being blunt, but someone's gotta.

Except gardening won't put you in jail for half a decade.

Half a decade is only 5 years, you stay jail for alot longer than that for shooting someone.

I don't know about you StarJet, but I don't have exotic wildlife and fauna in my garden, so it isn't that simple.

    And I'm a gamer, In between head-shots and level-ups I don't have time for a garden.

I had been expecting Miyamoto to make a game like this for the Wii. I suspect he won't now.

You know what? Depending on the price, it could be sorta fun... I like making things. Fav part of the Sims: making the homes. Something like this could be fun if you like Sim games. Note: I am a gamer, I do like other games... point is there could be a market.

Just a reminder: at sites like this, we are huge gamers. We are on the far side of the gaming spectrum, there are those in the middle and on the other side to consider. And hey, if it gets people thinking that games are not mindless and violent: hurray!

True that. I love the action packed blockbuster games and I also love artistic games that try new things.
