At the start of the year it was revealed that a red PS2 was in the works.
Well it has just been released and is being sold in Asia for about $153 American dollars.

No word about an international release. Though it's likely that it won't be released in the West.

Sure, the PS2's time is nearly up, but it's got at least one colour change left in it before it shuffles off this electronic coil. Sony Japan have just announced that, on July 3, they'll be releasing a new PS2 model in the colour Cinnabar Red. And before you ask, yes, it's a real colour.

It'll go for ¥16,000 (USD $153). Shouldn't make too big a dent in many of your purchasing plans, but that shouldn't stop you looking and thinking "you know, that's one very nice colour for a console".

Wow thats amazing that they would bother doing that. Although its abit pricey. PS2's go for a quarter of that price where i live but i suppose it has more to do with its limited stock.
