There has been conflicting news when it comes to Metal Gear Solid 4's runtime. OPM said that the gameplay is only 10-13 hours long while Paul Fitzpatrick (the man behind the first MGS4 review) revealed that total gameplay time is around 20 hours long. (not including the 9 hours of cutscenes).

So that puts Metal Gear Solid 4's runtime at a rough estimate of 10-20 hours long, depending on how you choose play it. Sounds like it will be as long as a typical MGS game. Good news for fans ...

Paul Fitzpatrick, The man behind the first review of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, shared some information of the game in an interview with Gamesradar. According to him the length of the game is around 29 hours before you reach the end of the game.

The game feels like a real MGS game, where the sneaking is still the most viable option. The cutscènes would be one third of the playing time.

I was worried MGS4 was going to be shorter than the others.

How would it be shorter than the others, if it had 8 hours worth of cutscenes and not wasn't including gameplay?

I remember hearing it was going to be like 40 hours long??

20 hours is still good though. Including cut scenes right?

I'll be playing this game reeeeally slowly to get over the 20 hour mark. I'm so glad to hear the 10-13 hour rumor isn't 100% correct.
