Capcom announces Spyborgs exclusively for Wii

Tyranitar24 | June 03, 2008 | News | Wii
At Captivate 08, Capcom announced Spyborgs, which will be made just for the Wii. In the game, there will be five playable characters and each one of them have their own unique skills. Spyborgs looks like an interesting game so far and has some potential. Please check out both the video and screenshots of Spyborgs below.

The only title to be officially announced at Captivate 08 was Bionic Games' Spyborgs, a Wii exclusive action game touted as resembling a Saturday morning cartoon, complete with mini-games as commercial breaks. Spyborgs may be more Adult Swim than it is Saturday morning fodder, despite having a clean and unoffensive visual style, as its sense of humor seems to learn toward intentionally off-beat and is self-described as "tongue-in-cheek."

With five playable characters, each with their own unique traits, Bionic Games hopes that their Wii remote waggler will "provide players with a dynamic and fresh gaming experience like no other."

We were treated to a hands-off presentation, however, getting a rough sense for Spyborgs' cartoonish sci-fi fisticuffs. In short, it may not look like much, but it has potential.

This game looks like a lot of fun, actually. I really like the off-beat cartoon style, and hope the gameplay will be their to match.

Is this Capcom's way of compromizing Street Fighter IV? At any rate the concept sounds pretty decent but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
