Meet your female partner in Resident Evil 5 (+ new screenshots)

Capcom have released new screenshots of Resident Evil 5, plus some renders of the "mysterious woman" partner (and she has been officially dubbed). Her name hasn't been revealed yet, nor has her purpose in the game. At least we can now safely confirm that she isn't Claire or Jill.

The new zombie screens also show an odd ability that the enemies will use against you: Face sucking!

Yesterday Capcom reminded us that killing zombies is fun. Now the studio wants to make sure we know that these zombies have no reservations swallowing your face.

Along with the new screenshots, the company released some renders of the unnamed female companion who is officially known as "mysterious woman."

    Resident Evil 5 is coming out, right? Does that mean we have to put up with another Resident Evil movie? I hope not. Why can't they make video games into good movies? Hitman was probably the best conversion ever.

    Oh, and "mysterious woman" looks pretty good.

      Yes there is a new movie coming out, but it's not what you think. It's a CGI film being head up by Capcom themselves, RE: Degeneration I think it's called. And...Claire's in it! <3

    RE Movies kickass. Besides there is another one coming out, the third movie was pretty much a cliff hanger at the end. It was hella awesome.

        I like the movies and I've played all the main RE's on PS consoles.Sure they butchered the Nemesis, but I still like the movies.

    Well this is good, some new screenshots. They look pretty danr awesome. I like how they are looking. But the face sucking thing is interesting. I noticed it in the recent trailer.

    What in the world kind of zombies have big . . . face-sucking/biting mouths coming out of their own mouths?!?! Lol, never played the series, nor watched the movies (I think, well I might've watched one), or anything like that, so I suppose these are not "normal" zombies? Or is this something totally new to the series?

      Something totally new. Capcom got bored of using regular zombies, so they decided to make their own weird version of them. (though I suppose they're not technically called zombies this time around).

        One of the Blade movies, I think Blade II, had an almost identical face sucking feature for some of the vampires.

          Hmm, really? Interesting. I do know though if I EVER saw something like that coming toward my face, no worries, I'd die of a heart-attack right then and there!

          Game side though, I wonder what they'll call them, or if they'll be called zombies even.

    I've heard that her name is something like Sheva or Sleva. There was a wallpaper on residentevil.com with her on it and in the writing it said Sheva/Sleva.

      Aye, I think it's Sleva since it looks a bit like an "L", then again the writing is so *bleep*ed up. I think I managed to save it before they editted the name off the wallpaper.

    The game that introduces "Girta", the fat, frumpy pissed off female hero will introduce something new in terms of gaming. There are plenty of ugly male protagonists... I think?

    She looks... interesting to say the least. I could imagine her introducing Chris to Africa (the country he's investgating in or whatever). Hopefully we get to play as her like we did with Ashley in RE4.

      I don't think so.She looks like she can handle her own.Don't forget Ashley was the presidents daughter.The biggest problem she probably ever faced before RE was deciding on which car she could get that the average person could save up for for the rest of their life and still not be able to buy.
