In a Live interview session with Eurogamer, Ted Price the boss of Insomniac Games was available to answer questions. During the interview when asked about the loading screens of Resistance 2, Ted Price responded with

"And hopefully you won't see any loading screens. At least that's the plan!"
This will be partly due to the install which he also talks about in the interview as well as many other points.

Unfortunately the interview is now over (just as I finish typing up this article actually), however the hour-long interview has had many questions answered.

Just to make things easier, here are some of the points mentioned in the article:
  • No information about skill points yet, however the documents of R:FoM will be returning
  • Many new weapons will be returning in R2 - including a minigun and marksman
  • A Second R&C game is most likely being worked on (they have overlapping teams)
  • Resolution and Framerate are: 720p, 30fps
  • Both R1 AND R2 should feature trophy and Home Support (and thus so should R&C)
  • The single player campaign should be as long as if not longer than the campaign for Resistance: Fall of Man

That's good news, the R:FoM campaign was pretty long. Glad to hear documents are coming back, they were intresting. Minigun? Not sure about. Makrsman sounds good. Skillpoints = Trophy?

"And hopefully you won't see any loading screens. At least that's the plan!" translates to "No Loading Screens for Resistance 2"?

I'm not fussed about load screens, I'll probably pick this up on release date regardless of whether I have to wait 3 minutes in between levels.

Actually I think I quoted the wrong part, there's another question where he replies with "there are no loading screens" or something to that effect.

Personally I'm more hyped by the fact that R:FoM will have backwards compatibility with the Trophy system, i.e. they'll be releasing a patch to unlock my Trophies

Hmm, I'm not a shooter fan, but I liked the story of the first game and can hardly wait for this next one! It sounds like it'll be great, especially the co-op. I wonder if I'll have more controllers by then

And Yes! Trophies for the past game is good!

Sweet, longer campaign. All the other stuff was pretty much a given. Except for no load screens.

" Many new weapons will be returning in R2 - including a minigun and marksman"

Errr, isn't that a contradiction? How can they be both 'new' and 'returning'? And is that the actual name though? 'Marksman'?

    Not loving the 720p 30fps thing >_> Would prefer either 1080p 30fps or 720p/1080i 60fps >_>

BTW: Nullified your 'thumbs down' Krunal. What idiot thumbed you down?

Hah I wondering about that too tallteen.

I don't mind the resolution, maybe a higher frame rate would have been better but it doesn't really matter to me.

Trophy and Home support however definitely caught my eye

    I thought R1 wasn't getting Trophy support?
