It looks like Jack Thompson's career is on it's last legs. The Florida Bar has officially requested for his disbarment in court. And Jack Thompson, who rambled incoherently in his defence, has almost destroyed his chance of winning the case when he took a few personal attacks out on the judge before leaving the courthouse!

The Florida Bar asked for an "enhanced disbarment" in the disciplinary hearing of Jack Thompson, held earlier this afternoon. The recommendation means Thompson would be disbarred and prohibited from applying to practice law again for ten years.

Thompson wrapped up his 14-page objection by quoting from the bible, and saying that he and Senators Clinton and Obama understand the dangers posed by the Grand Theft Auto games:

"I am “guilty” of being right and ahead of the curve when it came to Howard Stern and as to Grand Theft Auto. Because I took on Bar complainant, Al Cardenas, the Howard Stern Show is off terrestrial radio and his influence diminished.

Because I took on this cop-killing, woman-bashing video game, the Presidential race is now addressing the issue and this particular video game.

Try to get me disbarred. Go ahead, do your worst, Referee Tunis. I will continue to do my best."

In the rambling, 4,500-word objection, Thompson questioned Tunis' ability to preside at his hearing, calling her incompetent and arrogant and threatening to have her removed from office "in the days and weeks ahead." He also went on to call the people run The Florida Bar fascists and denied that he was involved some sort of "petty culture war."

Jack Thompson at his finest. Anyone who disagrees with him is an idiot and is either threatened with a lawsuit or being removed from office.

Way to go Jack, but your fate's sealed with this one.

Probably not the best idea to call the judge "arrogant and incompetent", I don't think.

Wacko Jackos problem is that he thinks hes untouchable, which of course as proven by the Florida Bar, not true. Hes lucky he has been in the buisness for this long, but hes had it comming to him, evem though he was too stupid to realize it himself.

*crosses fingers that his disbarment comes quickly*

There is something VERY wrong with a man who thinks it's a good idea to insult the judge presiding over their case. I'm surprised he wasn't held in contempt of court. Who the hell would let him ramble for so long withoutobjecting to his crap?

I disagree with this statement you made Gothic Girl:

ALMOST? Seriously? Were you HIGH when you wrote that? Lol.

Well, old JT has avoided the ax a few times before, but I seriously doubt he'll escape this one >_>

I doubt this'll completely shut him up though....

It's Jack Thompson. The name alone destroys his chance of winning any serious court case.

Even though he's going to get his come uppins, this isn't the end for JT. I have a feeling its going to take alot more than this to end his nonsense.

Once he is out of public view we can finish him, no worries.

People won't want anything to do with him after he gets disbarred, could you imagine a news reporter announcing him?

"And now we go to game specialist Jack Thompson, who was just recently disbarred from practicing Law"

    Facepalm!

    Hehe, what a poor guy.

I can just imagine him in front of the judge. And the judge way say something like, "Your out of order Mr. Thompson."

And then Jack would be like: "This entire court is out of order!" And then stomp off, leaving a entirely puzzled court room behind him.

His disbarment will make him into the martyr he's always wanted to be. This is everything he's dreamt about. He'll be cemented into chat shows for the next 15 years as a videogames violence expert and panelist on "kids and our games". Trust me, this turd getting disbarred is probably the worst thing that could happen.

People become martyr's by being persecuted for their beliefs. If their fired after years of ineffective ramblings and threats it doesn't have quite the same impact.

Even if it were going to make him a martyr. His tantrum ruined that. If Ghandi was bitching about hunger during his protest no one would remember his name.

Even if Thompson ends up rambling about violent games on talk shows for the next few years, he can't do anything about it legally. I'm sure companies like Rockstar are whooping with joy at the prospect of Thompson no longer filing cases against them. He'll no longer be a thorn in their side. He can't rant on TV as much as he wants, but it won't achieve anything.

Actually, probably a Bible, some nonsensical rantings and quotes from said bible, and 'evidence' against video games....

Sorry tallteen86 but with all the prayers for his demise the Bible would probably burn him... badly.

Speaking of the presidential race, Jack, last time I checked, Clinton is no longer in it, and Obama is telling parents to be more careful about what games there kids play.

Wait a minute... you're telling me the Florida Bar JUST thought of this?

Actually, while this is the first time they went this far to get him disbarred, I do that once (at least. I think it was twice or more) they had him take some sort of psychological exam....Which he passed >_>

As I said, they're taking it more seriously this time around, and it looks like he'll get disbarred, and possibly banned from practicing in Florida for 10+ years....
