Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

This is good news for third-party developers hoping to gain some attention on the Wii. Nintendo won't be releasing any first-party titles in June, so gamer's attention will be focused on third-party games, at least for a month.
Wii-owners know all too well how desperately good third-party titles need Nintendo's support. Mtv.com is hoping that this is Nintendo's subtle way of stepping back and showing support for their third-party developers, though they're not holding their breaths ...
quoteNintendo does not, in fact, have any first-party games releasing in June. We continue to enjoy strong third-party support for both Wii and Nintendo DS. In June alone, titles such as Guitar Hero for the DS and Lego Indiana Jones, Rock Band and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith are all scheduled to come out for the Wii.
While Microsoft and Sony have often gone months without first-party releases, Nintendo of America has published games on one or more of the companys platforms every month at least since the Wiis launch in November 2006. Nintendos aggressive publishing schedule had long been a sign of the companys size and will to back a large number of games. Its also demonstrated the companys apparent inability to depend on major third party games to carry its consoles in a given calendar month.
Is Nintendos first-party-free June a big sign of how much the company has changed? A grand achievement of third-party support?

As sad as it is, crappy Nintendo games like Mario and Sonic Olympics garner more attention than decent third-party titles like Okami. I don't think it's a matter of non-interest either - They just can't compete against Nintendo on Nintendo's own console.
How many months have we been waiting??
It's a shame Okami and No More Heroes were released so early. They would've really capitalized on the opportunity if they'd been released now.
