The GTA IV downloadable content set to be released 2008's fourth quarter has been delayed. These mission packs for the 360 will now come out somewhere in early 2009. Take Two has attributed this change to better balance the release schedule

Those waiting for more Grand Theft Auto IV content will have to wait a little bit longer. According to Take-Two's Fiscal Q3 2008 report, the first batch of GTA IV downloadable content will be coming in Q1 of fiscal 2009, instead of the originally planned Q4 of fiscal 2008. In real calendar terms, that means the DLC, which is rumored to include whole new cities, is due between November 1, 2008, and January 31, 2009.

The reason behind the delay, according to Take-Two, was to "provide a better balance in Take-Two's release schedule." The statement specifically mentioned Xbox 360, with no talk of content for the PS3.

Better than having to wait till hell freezes over.By this I mean at least people who have the 360 version get the DLC.

I wasn't really sold on it to begin with, but I wonder what kind of backlash this will get from the fans. I also wonder if i believe their reasoning for delaying it. I said from the start that it was very hard to believe they would releasing content equivalent to Vice City and San Andreas within months of the game's release. This "delay" would make sense under my original assumption. There is also a lot of big name titles coming out in the Fall. Interesting news.

I'm pretty sure a good amount of them would say that it's better to have it delayed, rather than it not appear at all like the PS3 version.

Of course, I can't afford any of the systems anyway, so my hypothesis could be wrong.

Thats one thing to not get it at all, but 360 owners are guaranteed to have it available to them, and people like to go over the top complaining when things are delayed.

...wouldn't it just help to refute your baseless beliefs? Why would delaying it make sense if the DLC was small? Wouldn't you think they're delaying it because there is a good amount and it's taking a bit longer to make...sorta like why GTAIV was delayed? They're not just going to delay it because they're scared that consumers will cry because it's too small

Thats why I said I didn't believe content the equivalent of this generation's Vice City and San Andreas could be released in such a short amount of time. What part of what I said was confusing?

          Review of your (first) comment:

-Your original assumption = "they would not be releasing something the size Vice City/San Andreas"

-This "delay" would make sense, given your original assumption. \

If it couldn't be released is such a short time, then they could be delaying it because it IS the size of VC/SA, which would do only to disprove what you believe.

Enter my post. I think you're the one confused with what you said. Or not you're understanding what I said.

That's fine by me. Got enough games to keep busy with this year.

It'll happen with any game that's overly hyped thanks to rabid fans, or ones that are highly anticipated, iLL. It sucks...vicious cycle.

You obviously missed the sarcasm in my post DMR.
It was a joke to the fans bitching how disappointed they were with the game. And alot I've seen here actually said im not going to be play the game again. Don't know whether they were 360 users or not, still backs up my point.

Armed Rebel man what the hell. Thats twice now that you reiterated what I said in different words. I said I didn't believe such a large expansion could be released so soon, so a delay would make sense, implying that yes, maybe the expansion is that big. I never debated the size, only the timing. What the *bleep*

Maybe I don't know what you meant by "under my original assumption". I was under the impression that you were saying this delay is somehow re-affirming your beliefs that the content isn't as big as VC or SA.

If this is a case, and I did misinterpret what you were saying, I apologize.

Gee another "you just suck" comment. One of the most infuriating things someone can say. It's just a simpled minded saying by those who can't handle people thinking differently.
