Want some classic Metal Gear Solid action on the PS3? Then your prayers may well be answered in the next month according to this rumor. With MGS4 completed Konami are expected to release the original MGS outside of Japan within the coming month. Some even predict the classic will make its way over the Xbox Live.

Konami look set to announce that the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience, MGS for the PSOne, will be making its way to Sony's Playstation Network sometime in the next month, after the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots. Along with further rumours that they are also planning to launch a software update with MGS4 to include cross media bar integration and those infamous trophies, it seems this is another rumoured aspect of the MGS saga.

The series has always been rumoured to appear in some shape or form on one of many downloadable services for various consoles over the last year. Microsoft's rival machine, the 360, is also being touted to recieve the original Playstation classic very shortly, if reliable sources are to be believed.

What Sony needs to do is actually buy its exclusivity of the original MGS for its PSN. Cause right now, the PSN has a horrendous line-up of classics.

Whats the point i mean cavemen were around when MGS1 released, i mean it is the foundation of life, many laws were passed thanks to MGS (if you believe that you'll believe anything) seriously though once a game gets to a certain age it is almost pointless making it exclusive... It would be like Sony saying GTA 1, 2 and London are exclusive to the PSN, when they are readily available for free on Rockstar's website, it just doesn't work with old games.

There's a reason Goldeneye isn't on XBL, and that game is just as old, if not older. Its competitive business 101. You have to try to shut down as many opportunities the opposition has to gain market/mindshare. .

Why don't they put Resident Evil on Live while they're at it. Shit, Sony even lets their 10 year old exclusives get away.

What do you expect? They're still expecting to get exclusive rights through "good company ties" rather than buy-outs, even in this day and age. They only realized a few weeks ago that they were going to have to start paying real money for exclusives.

Good idea. Those new to the series can play the first game and see what made MGS a classic.

I am still waiting for FF7 on PSN, my 3rd disc is cracked. I still have my original copy of Metal Gear so I dont care if its on psn or not. Hell the only PS1 game I have from PSN was Wild Arms.
