Portal 2 is well under way, and a lot of people are asking "how the hell can Valve construct a successful sequel to such a great game?".
Well the answer may be "they aren't" because according to this casting call for a voice actor, the next Portal game might be a prequel where you will play as none other than Cave Johnson, the founder and CEO of Aperture Science, who apparently starts to lose his grip on humanity as the story progresses.

Following a tip-off, Kotaku has unearthed what looks like potential plot details, with a casting call on industry website Breakdown Express detailing a job for Valve on Portal 2, as well as listing significant facts about the role itself. Needless to say, if you want Portal 2 to be a fresh experience whenever it arrives, it's best to avert your browsers now.

The part on offer is that of Cave Johnson, an eccentric dead billionaire who was the founder and CEO of Aperture Science. "He might not know how science works, but he knows how people work," goes the casting call, before detailing, "A born salesman, a leader, an evangelist. People trust him even when his plans are clearly dangerous." Most tantalisingly, the call goes on to state that Johnson "…goes from sidekick to principle protagonist. Sarts [sic] to lose his grip on his humanity as the story progresses." According to the post, recording will start towards the end of July this year.

This is interesting since other sites are reporting that Cave Johnson will be the antagonist. Looks like we'll have to wait and see which turns out to be true...

I see it as being much more likely that such a character is the antagonist, so I'd be more inclined to believe those reports.

It doesn't say he's the main character. It says he goes from sidekick to prinicpal antagonist, AKA the bad guy.

I tried to submit this yesterday, but Gothic Girl beat me to it.
