The latest installment in the Tales series of RPGs, the Xbox 360-exclusive Tales of Vesperia, was announced at Microsoft's RPG Premiere 2008 earlier today to have an August 7th release date in Japan, with a North American release to follow later that month. A European release is being scheduled for 2009.

Publisher Namco Bandai has stated that a demo for the game will be available in Japan sometime this month. The demo is assumed to be headed stateside, based on precedent with Eternal Sonata, but there is nothing confirmed.

Also announced was a bundle, which includes the Xbox 360 console, a copy of the game, and a custom faceplate featuring the game's characters. The bundle will retail for 34800 yen.

Waitaminute-- another 360 RPG? Hah. I'm feeling better and better about not choosing the PS3 (no offense, fanboys, haha).

I was a big fan of the original Tales games, but the more recent ones haven't caught my interest. Still, I'll be adding this to my wishlist.
