Afrika has gotten a release date. It will be released on August 28th in Japan. It will be priced at ¥5980, which is about 56 US dollars. So if the game doesn't make it to the US, you know when to ship it in.

Afrika, Sony's upcoming entry in the burgeoning savannah-wildlife-photojounalist-sim genre, has been given a final release date and price. It'll be out on August 28, and will cost ¥5980 (USD$56), which is a bit of a worry. I'd presumed this would be a neat little addition to the PSN's lineup. A different way to blow $15-$20. But that price has it pegged as a, well, proper game. And what they've shown thus far doesn't look like it has the legs/meat of a proper game at all.

I think Japan can keep this game, I don't see it going anywhere. At least in the NA that is.

I said at least in the NA. You honestly think its going sell decent in North America? I don't, and i'm sure im not the only one. Pokemon snap probably didn't sell great in the NA.

Well maybe if Sony showed it off a bit more in the NA, such as at E3 and what not it can gain a lot of publicity and well, sell a decent amount.

Another epic fail. Japan can keep it, Yet another reason why X-Bots still poke fun at PS3.

I don't see how this game has failed. Yes the gameplay is completely different from a lot of the games out right now. But we don't know much about what this game will offer. So maybe when it comes out and see it reviewed by journalist and buyers alike, we can have a final conclusion of this game has failed or not.

Call me crazy, but I'd be willing to bet this game will be a relative success, simply because it's something different and unusual. And with the 'hype' that's surrounding it, there are a fair few people who would think it was worth the buy. It'll appeal to the PS3's more casual audience. There's nothing wrong with the concept - It sounds pretty interesting.

But hey, I suppose there are a lot of people who think that any game without a gun is a failure. >_>

Um....no, its the fact that taking pictures of wild animals in a game isn't really that cool or fun like. I just know that NA won't like it, I pretty much know the country overall view of games since I live there. I can't say how everywhere else will take it.
