The Conduit, the highly anticipated FPS specifically developed for Wii by High Voltage Software, has received a tentative release date of Q1 2009, meaning the game can come out as early as November 2008. It is also confirmed that the game will have "Online Competitive Play," though no details are given.

Development studio High Voltage Software yesterday announced a release time frame for its forthcoming Wii first-person shooter, The Conduit. The game is set for a "Q1 2009" debut, according to the company.

High Voltage says it is, "... fusing fast and fluid gameplay with an advanced set of visuals intended to squarely establish the Wii as a true next-generation gaming platform." To that end, the title uses dynamic environment mapping, interactive water with real-time reflection and four-stage texture composition, including gloss, diffuse and bump-mapping.

Wow this game's shaping up pretty nicely. The graphics had me sold, but confirmed online play pretty much seals the deal for me.

I'm extremely excited for this game, but hopefully it will have local multiplayer as well.

I'm keeping an eye on the game. I usually don't like FPS, and hoped the Wiimote would change all that right up until I played Red Steel. However, this game looks a lot better than RS, so I'm exited to see it develop.

The guns looks rather unique and has detailed much of the bad guys. The game is comming out that soon??

-I hope they allow the use of both Classic/Gamecube controller and Remote+Nunchuck (pointing like in Redsteel)

~even without that, the game is a must get.

Why would you want classic control? IR is so much better than Duel Analog could ever dream to be.
