GamesRadar has compiled a list of the 13 scariest video game characters we have ever seen, from Redead all the way to Pyramid Head. Check the list out, it's a good read.

There's been a lot of talk over the past few years about how videogames need to provoke more of an emotional response from gamers, and of how the technology is gradually allowing developers the freedom to evoke those responses. But really, videogames have been expertly tapping into one of our most basic emotions for decades: Fear.

Sometimes, all of that fear is inspired by a single character or creature, and when those characters are realized particularly well, throwing down with them can leave players traumatized - but in a good way. In the following pages, we'll recognize the baddies that scared us the most - and present video evidence to prove that they're just as creepy as we remember.

I always find Boos are worse than Redead. I loved ghost houses, I have a natural gift for getting cornered by them. Although Redead were pretty worring too.

  There's a fair bit of meaning behind that scene, and it's got nothin' to do with how deranged Pyramid Head is.

Bah. Some of them aren't even scary. Jason Vorheez from NES? Redead from Zelda? Maybe if I was 5 I'd find them scary.

Definitely agree with Nemesis, Kusabi, Pyramid Head and Sledgehammer though. It's always scary when baddies twice the size of the main character (who usually can't be killed) chase you throughout the entire game.

Friggen PS3 browser is Re-goddamn-diculous >_< The PS3 should NOT run out of friggen memory so fast >_> And when it runs out of memory on the browser, not only does the page that causes issue have to be closed, but any number of other open windows, it is freakin' stupid.

So I can't view the article >_>

But the Redeads were like 'OOOOK!' when they paralyzed your character and jumped on him >_> Meh, haven't played most of the games whos characters are on this list, so I can't really comment >_>

The redead, only a minor freak compared to the Wind Waker variant, WW had all the scariest Zelda enemies, the WW floormaster, the simple sound they emitted would keep me at bay, but the scariest Zelda enemy is by far the miniblin, especially when they attack in groups of infinite!
