Playboy and Metal Gear, like wine and cheese

Most of us know about the product placements in Metal Gear 4, but what about the partnership with Playboy? It appears Kojima is a proud supporter of porn, as you can, as old Snake (and I do mean old) look at back issues to "boost your psyche." Well, I'm sure he reads it for the articles.

Metal Gear is no stranger to images of "sultry beauties" of course, so it fits well enough.

The magazines can also be used as a weapon. Read on.

Konami proudly announced partnerships with Apple, Uniqlo, and Triumph Motorcycles. The publisher also made a surprising deal with Playboy that gives Old Snake access to the magzine. You can “read” issues of Playboy by switching to FPS mode which benefits Snake by boosting his psyche. The item can also be used as a “weapon” by placing it on the ground in the path of a male soldier. Since the magazine is "guaranteed to arouse the interest of males ages 18 to 80" virtual copies of Playboy can be used to divert the attention of troops away from Snake and towards “sultry beauties”.

As a joke, the in game issue of Playboy has says “Hideo Kojima interviewed” on it. Can anyone identify the model?

    Hahahaha, I didn't notice that, thanks Don. The flick through feature is pretty cool, imagine if you had to turn to the right page for the right guard

    This is nothing new though. Skin magazines were available as a distraction in past MGS games too. The only difference is that now the magazines are Playboy and you can flick through all 6 pages.

    This reminds of when you sneak into one of the lockers in MGS2 and Snake can fap to it in the locker, that cracked me up so much.

      They didn't work with the gay soldiers in MGS3. (e.g. Raikov) XD
