Unfortunately for all of us who use homebrew, the newest 3.3 Wii Menu Update kills Twilight Hack, which was the most used homebrew injection method.

The news is recent, and there is no word yet of ways to circumvent this - so if you want to keep running homebrew DON'T UPDATE YOUR WII.

Homebrew channel still seems to work fine though it is still in beta.

he latest update, which rolls the Wii Menu to 3.3, not only kills the Twilight Hack, but also allows you to move a Mii from the Mii Plaza into the Mii Parade directly, thanks to the addition of a handy new icon. You just drag and drop as you normally would.

But, let's get back to the real news here. Nintendo has finally gone ahead and sunk the U.S.S. Homebrew. We're anxious to see how the community is going to take this one.

    * 17 June 08: Bushing has already announced a workaround after just 6-8 hours of work! Big thanks to all involved! (Note that the workaround is not yet available publicly)

    • 16 June 08: The latest Wii System Menu update appears to remove copies of the Twilight Hack and fix the trucha signing bug. It is now available in US and PAL regions. Updating is not recommended.

Wow, that was fast. So there is a workaround, it is just not released just yet. (I guess I can wait another day or so, lol)

Not really interested in the whole homebrew thing, but as long as I can still use my freeloader to play Brawl, I'm fine with it.

I think the update does affect freeloader if I read it correctly.

    I'm sorry.

Well that just blows, ARGHH! Well I only got my freeloader for Brawl anyway, and it is out in the UK soon so I'll just update it once I get the UK version..

Seriously, why block the Freeloader? Its not doing any detriment to them, we still have to pay for the games... and people who can't get them yet are happy. I just don't get it.

I personally think this is an Ego thing more than anyways... wouldn't suprise me if they brought out there own type of freeloader myself.

Oh well, not updating for me (though I hope later on I won't have to, with games such as GHwt...).

    I can't update mine anyway..so I guess I don't have to worry..

They shouldn't give and then take away :/

Well, in their defense - they never really "gave" us homebrew per se - we the consumers were able to exploit an "error" on their part in order to run it.
