Awesome, I feel much better about buying my PS3 now! I was worried for awhile. How the hell is resistance still $60?

      Yeah, stupid, isn't it?

Wanna hear something strange? When I got my used Special Edition of Oblivion Non-GOTY, I'm talking about the two disk one with extras), I paid a fair bit for it....But recently, I saw another used version for like $5 more, like a year and a half later >_>

AWESOME! God Of War I and II were easily the best action-games ever made. They were incredible. God Of War III if it even matches those games will look superb - can't wait to see the trailer!

And Seproth, I dunno where you're shopping, but I got Resistance for £15 in GAME, which is the biggest gaming retailer in the UK and Ireland.

Well it was at Wal-Mart but I wasn't surprised about that. I looked on Amazon using my phone's web browser and it was $60 there too... I was pretty shocked.

God of War 2 is the best action game ever created.

Man, God of War 3 is going to be THE reason to own a PS3. Sorry, MGS4, you're no match.

Whoa, easy there. GoW3 WILL be nothing less than epic but when it comes to replayability, it falls flat on its face...badly.

Awesome, God of War is one of the titles that made choosing the PS3 a no-brainer for me. I can't wait to see what they can do with the PS3, especially considering the epic cliffhanger at the end of GOW2.

I find it extremely funny that anyone who says that God of War 2 was the best action game ever they immediately get thumbs down.

There is no doubt God of War 1 and 2 was epic for PS2, and being the greatest game for the PS2.
Now while Chains of Olympus might not have the longer gameplay, for a PSP title easily the best game on the PSP. The graphics was outstanding, gameplay, story, voice acting everything was like a PS2 game.

I have no doubt in my mind that God of War 3 will be one massive and epic game.

@Seeker what are you talking about? With Challenge of the gods or titans, with replaying it on the harder modes the replayability was outstanding. I have played both games for like hours and hours just because I love Greek Mythology and the game. To be exact probably around 80+ hours played for both.

    DMC however fits your category.

If DMC didn;t have the Bloody Palace minigame, that would not have any replayability either. Not saying Challenge of the Gods/Titans doesn't give it replayability but if I wanna play the game again I don;t wanna have to go through a gauntlet of pain and frustration.

Bloody Palace was something of a gauntlet that went from easy to hard, which was fairly balanced. If GoW had that AND the Challenges, the replayability would go through the roof. Hard to count different difficulties as much of a reason to replay...sure as hell wasn't a reason to go through Half Life all over again.

Unfortunately neither GoW or GoW2 actually kept me for round 2, however amazing the first playthrough was. Only reason I played through God mode on Chains of Olympus was because I travel a lot with my PSP.

Maybe for you there wasn't replayability but for me I recorded over 80+ hours with the game. Like I said I love Greek Myth it was one of my favorite classes in school, thats part of the great replayability for me, just doing the story again. Im not the only one who feels the same for God of War series.

Congratulations, I guess a lot of us share the interest for Greek Mythology with the same passion as yours? Story's awesome the first time around, story's predictable the second.

Nothing new happens whenever you replay the game, so whats really the point? I found replaying GOWII with all the upgrades and Urns to be rather boring. The story didn't change, the bosses didn't get any more complex, nothing new.

Its fun the first time, typical the second time and from thereonafter.

And the only reason why this was brought up is because someone decided to go and say something along the lines of "watch out MGS4, GOWIII will be better", so don't go all Greek-nerd on us.

I like God of War, I really do, but God of War is NOT the greatest action game ever made. The quick time cutscnes were a HORRENDOUS idea that plagues action games these days and just poses as an annoyance rather than enjoyment. Its cool sometimes but usually it annoyed the crap out of me, especially since I couldnt enjoy what Kratos was doing, because I had to watch out for what the next button was.

I know I am gonna get thumbed down for this, BUT

Devil May Cry = Ninja Gaiden > God of War

Actually Ninja Gaiden owns DMC and God of War on the combat. Other than that its still similar only to the fact that the story is way better on God of War then those two.

Seeker and reaver, I love Greek myth I have no problem reading the same book of it over and over cause the story is fantastic has great action, and keeps me interested. The fact That God of War is the first game to really use Greek myth, and do it extremely well, is one of the reasons why I can sit and replay the game so many times. You really need to love Greek myth to understand. You know how many times R@D plays the game over and over and loves it every second??

    Exactly.

Its subjective as to which is better in terms of combat, you cant just say one is "better" because they all strive to acheive a diffrent kind of combat.

I think Greek mythology is very interesting, but it's not the sole reason why I think God Of War has been the best action series ever made. No, that would be the flawless execution of combat, the innovative use of powers, the amazing set-pieces (fighting the Collosus of Rhodes in GOW II, anyone?), the superb graphics and the trilogy storyline. You don't need to know or care about Greek mythology to enjoy this game; because at the end of the day, God Of War III is gonna let you fight Zeus. And that is undeniably cool, whether you like Greek mythology or not. It's the brutal smoothness of the combat that has always been where God Of War stands out from the rest of the pack.

And like Sphinx, it's also the main reason why I bought a PS3 over a 360.

The Cinematics in GoW1 and GoW2 look better than a lot of Cinematics in Current-Gen games. I can't imagine what they'll look like in GoW3. I'm betting lot of people will be pissed to see Live-Action cinematics(which never work in games), but then be blown away to hear it's actually CGI.

The people commenting on this article are disgusting, they thumb down anyone who isnt sucking God of War's cock, get over it people, not everyone thinks its the best action game ever made, and for good reason.

Actually it's been the other way around, where anyone who made positive comments has been thumbed down, presumably by DMC or Xbox fanboys.
