With No End to Stupidity in Sight, Red PS3 Goes for $12,100

It never ceases to amaze me how people can drop thousands of dollars on some of the dumbest products around. Just last week a $12,100 winning bid yielded the world’s only Maserati Red PS3. The 60GB version features all of the fixin’s you would find on the normal black version, but this um, thing, comes with two red wireless controllers too.

    Because if it sold for anything around $600, the value of a PS3 still wouldn't be the (not) must have it's supposed to be.

    That's ridiculous. $12,100 just for a console, which is more than double the price of the black console (I think). I wonder if they'll release other colours in the future.

      $600? There is a difference of 11k. That's just me breifly looking at the number as I am too lazy to calculate and I hate Maths anyway.

        I was thinking that too, it's not $600 more expensive it's about a $11,500 difference which is absolutely insane, that is nearly a 20 times price mark up for some red spray paint.

      I think so, too. Everyone could have done it... Why do people spend money on things they don't need is beyond me. 10 000$? I could buy a decent car with all those money!!!

    I saw the ebay auction for this last week, it is pretty ridiculous paying so much cash for something that does the exact same job as a normal ps3.

    That's hot. It looks ten times better to me than a regular ps3. It's not worth the money, but Sony should consider making those. Hawt.

    That's just insane. Why woul you pay $12,000 for a Playstation 3? Whoever bought that must really, really like red, and must be impatient as to not to see if Sony releases one eventually. >.<

    If you want a red one THAT badly, then just buy the regular $600 one and spray paint it yourself? Spray paint isn't that expensive.

    I think the colour red doesn't even look anywhere near nice for the PS3. If someone bought a white PS3 for that price I would understand, but red?

    Well, I wish I thought of selling a red PS3. I think whoever bought that PS3 has way too much spare cash... Such a waste of money.

    I wouldn't even spend a dime on the red PS3. Honestly the color for it looks horrible compared to the black one.
