In a questionable departure from the tried and true formula that has created a huge amount of success and anticipation, Blizzard will be focusing on role playing elements in the upcoming Diablo 3.
Will this take away from the frenetic action that is the trademark of the series and turn it into another Dungeon Siege? Follow the jump to find out more.

This would indicate a more episodic feel, where rather than non-stop action that could be joined at any time, quests and storyline would play a major role. Although Pardo reassures us that (thay are) "taking cues from games like Zelda, God of War, games like that, (to) bring that to the action-RPG genre" they are obviously looking at a more mission based game style, sacrificing at least part of the incredibly enjoyable flow of the game.

Actually I'm not terribly concerned by this, it could make Diablo a better series involving the player more in the world of Diablo, but I just hope they don't overdo it, otherwise Diablo will easily crash and burn.

I just want the simplicity of Diablio 2, not necessarily exactly the same but easy to get the hang of.

    I liked dungeon siege...

Anyway it'd be nice if they didn't charge a monthly fee. Diablo 2 style

Hmm, with the success of the console market these days, its possible Diablo 3 might be on the PS3/ 360 aswell.

Yeah, that's true. Let's hope it doesn't go the way of Starcraft: Ghost

Wait so it's different? I thought it was the same as previous titles....

Lol, maybe I should actually try looking at that gameplay footage instead of just guessing from screenshots :\
