SCEE has confirmed the release of the DualShock 3 controller for Europe. The controller will be released on July 2nd 2008 at a retail price of £39.99.

In a press release today, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced that the DualShock 3 Wireless Controller will be available for the PlayStation 3 in Europe from July 2nd 2008. The US and Japan have had the DualShock 3 controller for some time now so this will be good news for European gamers. David Reeves, President and CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, commented, "We are delighted to confirm that DUALSHOCK 3 will be released in SCEE territories in early July. We hope this will add to the intense gaming experience for our fans, as we continue to evolve PS3, its software and its peripherals."

    Oh that's so nice. At the moment use one controller of another mark...it's not bad...but it doesn't last much time...

    £40 for a fecking controller?

    I think I'll stick with my imported DS3 (£28) and the SIXAXIS I got with the console.

    Considering you can currently get double packs of sixaxis for the same price as one DS3 (stores desperately flogging them cheap before the arrival of DS3), the £40 price tag is pretty steep.
