Starhawk Drives the Offensive

In the most recent installment of anti-video game legislation: Connecticut Senator, Gayle Slossberg (D) (of course she's a Democrat), is busy futtering around GTA: IV searching for an alleged 'Rape Scene' that she is convinced exists.
Even though separate studies from Harvard and USC have concluded that though video games may desensitize youth - it will NOT turn them into sociopaths. That is an innate trait that cannot be brought on by videogames. Someone should tell old iron-sides Slossberg that.
Anyone whos played GTA IV remembers that infamous rape scene in the game, which allowed to accumulate points and whats that? You you dont remember that? Oooooh, thats right, because there wasnt one. Well, try explaining that to Connecticut Senator, Gayle Slossberg (D). Shes apparently convinced that the rape scene is there, she just has to get far enough along in the game to access it. At a press conference last week, she stated a law requiring clearer warning labels was needed to curb the corruption of youth. She doesnt seem to know quite what the labels should read though, considering this statement on them:
I mean what would it say? This game will make you a sociopath?
Yeah, they really need to label those games better to make sure parents know about all the wild and crazy scenarios that arent actually in the game itself. Like how in Pokemon Snap, Pikachu would sometimes sell you drugs in exchange for sexual favors. That got you bonus points from Professor Oak, as I recall.

It wasn't an official statement of hers. She was just being an absolute moron about it, not realizing that, oh em gee, the media and general population will probably pick up on everything she says because.... SHE IS A POLITICIAN.
Claims she was misrepresented.
I'm sure you know what rape is, but your comment suggested your didn't fully grasp the depth of the crime. My bad. =)
If that makes any sense?
We got a war going on, our economy's in the shitter, we have an election going on ... as people like this seem to think that our government should be focused on video games.
I think politicians have noticed that people don't want to hear about war anymore, so they're milking the new fad, which is blaming our problems on video games.
This is pretty much about ONE person who happens to be a senator for ONE state. Then, she's only asking for confirmation about something concerning a rumor she heard. She's also saying games should have better warning labels to try to warn (somewhat irresponsible) parents who would just go out and buy any game their kids ask for. What's so bad about wanting to make sure if a game has something like rewards for rape (which would be wrong IMO), and to have better labeling -- the way they list alcohol use and nudity and sexual situations, etc. Add a few more things to the list to help curb some objectional content getting into the hands of young kids.
I think so many, just like they've blown this one person's thoughts and actions out of control to say it's "definitely" in there; so many are now blowing it out of proportion to flame the enetire government and once again blame all the "anti-gamers" out there who apparently are just out to get all game developers and gamers!
Everyone needs to think clearly, and use some wisdom in all kinda things.
We really need to educate them on these things.
