When asked what he wanted from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, disabled teen Zak Touilii immediately chose a Playstation 3.

Sadly, thieves broke into his home last week and took off with some valuables, including Zak's PS3 and all his games.

Let's hope they catch the bastards!

HEARTLESS thieves have stolen the only enjoyment disabled teenager Zak Touilii has in his life - his PlayStation.

Born with the life-threatening illness duchenne muscular dystrophy, Zak, 14, has been confined to a wheelchair most of his life. His only enjoyment has been playing videogames with his mates, until thieves broke into his Wollongong home last week.

"Why did they have to do that?" he told The Daily Telegraph yesterday.

The new PlayStation 3 and games were given to him by the Make a Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to terminally ill children.

I know this is really sad, but I have some choice words for you:

    Can you feel the schadenfreude?!

That's terrible. This reminds me to lock the front door, because my PS3 and my brother's 360/Wii are lined up on a table, easily spotted from the front door.

Maybe Sony will get him a PS3 if they spot this story, although they lost a little over $3 billion in the PS3's production if I recall.

The publicity they get from it will be more than worth it when you think about it.

    Damn! This sucks.

There have been robberies going on around my neighborhood. Houses being broken into, car windows being broken and stuff stolen from cars including many car stereos etc.

I told my parents about this and they are going to install some security devices, monitors and the whole 9 yards. We have too many expensive valuables in our house to just be careless and think that no-one would ever break into our house. I also keep a sword under my pillow at nights

That's so wrong. I feel so sorry for this kid. Especially since it's the only enjoyment he had. *shakes head* This is the lowest of sleaze there is possible. Sony should give him a free PS3, and a pimping home security system.

As sad a story as this is (I really hope he gets a replacement), I doubt the thieves knew he was disabled.

Does it really matter if they knew or not?

The point I was trying to make was it doesn't make them (the thieves) any worse.

It'd make them worse if they did know he was disabled though.

Donnelly is right, this story is trying to make out that the theives actually targeted this disabled lad to steal from him when it was all just a bad coincidence.

          Redemption Jul 3, 08
We won't know whether the thieves knew or not, Make A Wish foundation is quite public and often publicizes their actions to try to draw more donations, so its possible this boy's newly acquired PS3 was in some local paper.

Redemption makes a good point (not trying to suck up, honestly!)...

Though whether the thieves read/heard about it or not is another matter. Also, it isn't like they post addresses , so the thieves would have had to do some hunting to track him down. Him having a (so far as I know) uncommon last name would have made things easier, I would think. Or, the thieves could have lived in the area....

Man that really sucks. Sony, Nintendo and, Mircosoft should give this dude one of the systems and a few games. And at the very least the dude is alright and nobody was hurt.

Damn, this is terrible. I know how pissed I would be if something like this happened to me, and I don't even play games that often.

It's good that no one was hurt, though.

You know 10 years ago or maybe 12, my house was robbed and they took some valuables as well. Like the Big TV, and a Ring that costed alot of money.

I feel this kid, it sucks. I hope he gets his games and PS3 back cause that isn't cool. If I was rich I would buy all the stuff they stole.

I hope that one day that Zak dude will somehow get incredibly strong and beat the crap out of those thieves...then buy a home security system.

It is not my place to wish pain upon people like that, but I will simply say now that that is wrong.
