Looks like we're getting close to getting are hands on halo 4. This looks like it is not going to come out that well if they rush.
There is a rumour going around about halo 4 developing. Is it true?
or is it another myth hundreds of gamers hear every day? Well we will have to wait to find out if this is a myth or not.

"At some point you'll just have to trust us on some of this stuff. We have to protect our sources to keep them from being fragged by their employers or associates.

A very good and anonymous source tells us that Halo 4 is already in full development over at Bungie. I wish to God She/He/It had more details to share but at this point all She/He/It can confirm for sure is that Halo 4 is an official project being developed by Bungie, at this very moment.

With more than 20 million copies of Halo 3 sold worldwide, I know it's a no-brainer that the series would continue somehow. It's nice to get this sort of reassurance from a source who has never been wrong for us before.

If we get more details, we'll share them. If She/He/It is wrong… They'll be quietly disposed of..."

That doesn't mean they're not making it. Companies lie sometimes, if you can believe that.

I hope it is in developement. Oh, and I'm loving the fake BoxArt. I think that looks pretty awesome.

Why would they lie like that, Market halo 3 as a lie and not even leak a tiny piece of legitimate info at all?

I'm pretty sure Halo "3" has been leaked, lol. you may want to edit your comment.

Anyway, there are various reasons why they wouldn't want to say anything about Halo 4. They could be unsure whether they're yet ready to commit to it yet, and don't want to say anything becasue all that would do is get people's expectations up.

If I were developing Halo 4, I'd wait until I was pretty far into developing the game, just so I'd have something solid to show people soon.

They're just going to piss people off if they say they're developing it now, and then end up not having snything to show for a long time, so why wouldn't they wait to say something about it?

I never said Halo 3 wasnt leaked, Read my post, I was talking about not leaking about halo 4.

They have even strait out denied it. If it were true they would say "no comment" Not "Bungie has been working on Halo for too long, we feel its time to give cheif a rest and go onto a new series."

          You clearly said "Halo 3".

The least you could do is edit your comment and not just lie about what you said.

I said Market halo 3 as a lie, When I was talking about leaking info I was talking about HALO 4. Me talking about halo 3 ended when I said why would they market it as a lie.

Are you insane, or can you just not understand what you, yourself wrote?

If you started talking about Halo 4, maybe you should've actually mentioned it, or said something about it in a different sentence. When you say it like that, you're still talking about your original subject, which was Halo 3.

I'll buy you "Hooked on Phonics" someday

You made a typo, I joked about it, get over it.

Bandito why did you tick the Playstation 3 box when submitting the article?
The PS3 Forum doesn't need 360 news in the sidebar. That's just childish.
    I don't care about Halo.

Beating a dead horse if true. Halo Wars, Halo Chronicles and then Halo 4 would be a little much.

If Bungie has any sense in them, THEY WILL NOT DEVELOP A HALO 4.

I liked how Halo 3 ended. It was the perfect fitting to the storyline. Creating a Halo 4 would be *bleep*ing up a great storyline with a random-ass reason to bring it back.

They would if MS paid them enough.

Lemme say something, would you rather ending a series because the storyline fits, or having a new kickass game in the series with a storyline that isn't perfect?
I know I haven't ever played Halo, and am probably missing something, but that's just what I wanted to say.

        TurMoiL911* Jul 4, 08
Yeah, I would rather have them end it out when the storyline fits fine, not before they beat the Halo horse dead.

Look at it from the storywriter's perspective: if you wrap up a storyline nicely, why ruin it with a sequel ? It's like J.K. Rowling writing an eighth Harry Potter book.

The only problem with your assumption is that after Halo 1 Halo 2 and 3 had great storyline and ending. Thats laughable in itself. halo 2 ruined the story for Halo 1 and halo 3 just added to it. Halo at its core never was about Story or single player, it was all about Multiplayer online, thats where it shined most. And thats what Halo fans will remember it for, not for its horrendous storyline.

Donnelly post makes more sense, this would make it seem that a 4 one is realistic, however given how Bungie stated halo series is over, meaning they won't make a 4th one, I don't see this being true.

    Halo 3 spoilers ahead:

At the end of the legendary ending Master Chief says "Wake me when you need me."

I thought that made it obvious they'd make a sequel when they were needed.

So i'm not the only one who thought of that. No doubt they have a few people working on it currently but their not going to focus on it until they want to or until their about to go under.

I don't think I'd like that. Halo 3's storyline seemed . . . empty compared to the other ones. I think if they milked another game off the storyline like that, it'd be dry and kinda ruin the name of the series. But, if they can do it right, BETTER than the Halo 3 for sure, then hey it'd be great. I doubt it though.

Besides, I don't think they'll go against their word when they said no more in the series storyline.

I think that Bungie would make a remake of Marathon rather than make a Halo 4.

What happened to Bungie being tired of making Halo? I thought Chief was going to have a good long while to rest before a new adventure.

In terms of the games storyline and whatnot, Halo 4 would be horrible. But from an economic standpoint, it seems inevitable. Halo 4 WOULD rake in some cash. Everyone who bought Halo 3 would probably get Halo 4. Games aren't about quality anymore, it's about having a popular title on the box art.

Haha...what's up with all the people speaking for Bungie...as if they worked there? It can happen, there is that possibility, there's ALWAYS that possibility.

As Bunnyburn mentioned, Bungie and Microsoft can cash in on a possible sequel. Think of it this way, if they lost a good deal of money trying out different things, who would they turn to? Perhaps they'll need to wake someone up, like ljp said.

Truth is, as much as it's bashed around Neo and such, Halo is a well-successful series. There's always a possibility of a Halo 4, MGS5...so on and so forth.

well this could go two ways the game could be made and people would be happy even if it sucked or the game would not be mad and people would forever hate bungi...after they beat halo wars.

If you paid attention to the storyline in Halo 3, you'd realize that the Covenant no longer exists.

I'm pretty positive that somebody in Halo said the destruction of the last Halo you destroy would not stop the flood just slow it down. And the ending of Halo 3 legendary obviously showd a new Halo will come out sometime.
And to the post above me, I'm pretty positive that the Brutes would be pissed off at the killing of the prophet.
