        You posted an article with an incredibly misleading title. Gallagher did not say "Violent Games cause knife fights" or anything of the sort.
        
        He said that kids are becoming desensitised to crime.

  And that title was actually from the site I got the article from, Kotoku.com.au; and I only used the BBC link because by GameGrep rules that's the one I have to use.

  I suppose he has a point. This generation's grown up seeing violence on tv and in the video games we play. I'm sure it subconsciously affects people. Now, I'm not trying to say all the kids are trying to kill each other but out of the entire gaming population, at least a handful must draw their influence from violent games.

      Such as? Their mom chopping up vegetables? You don't have to agree with me but I think a lot of it has to do with the content in video games and the way it's presented. Noel's right about the whole desensitivity to crime, though I won't bring up the drug issue. Take a look at GTA for example. You can go around and shoot random people on the streets. But what they aren't showing you is that these fictional people could be having a family or what not. To the player they're just faces without names. And if kids become influenced by this, then they treat the world around them in a similar manner. Keep in mind that the kids running around knifing each other, probably aren't very high in the socio-economic strata of society and don't have the same upbringing as you and me.

        Yeah you're right, I don't have to totally agree with you.Sure games will influence some children.My point is that everyone seems to blame everything wrong with todays youth on video games, when almost anything can and will influence some children.
        
        I think music would influence children more than video games.It seems like 80% of teens these days want to be freaking gangsters because of Rap/Hip Hop.
        
        Obviously this doesn't represent all children, but my cousins have been playing GTA since they were at least 8 and 10 and they don't even get into fights let alone anything worse.

    I think thats a bit harsh. He was only stating his opinion when asked to for part of an interview. Hardly like he's preaching to everyone. Infact he didn't even actually categorically say that video games = knife crime.
    
    Having said that, musicians should just stick to what they're good at (mostly).
