It's another Monday, and two more games were added to the North American Wii Shop Channel. Today should have been a release for Plaatchen Twist and Paint, but that was later pushed back for later in the month. In it's stead, we have the meager offering of one WiiWare game and one Virtual Console game. Disappointing week to be sure.

The WiiWare title is SPOGS Racing by D2C Games, an arcade-style racer that aims to bring the experience to the home console. The game will sport pick-up-and-play controls, perfect for those short bursts of gameplay.

The Virtual Console game is SNK's King of the Monsters for the Neo Geo. It was one of the many games featured on the game show Nick Arcade back in the day. It is a fighting/wrestling game that features giant kaiju/tokusatsu-type monsters, with the stages set in seven Japanese cities.

Recap:
WiiWare:

  • SPOGS Racing, D2C Games, 1-2 Players, 1000 Points
    Virtual Console:
  • NEOGEO: King of the Monsters, 1-2 Players, 900 Points

As always, games go live Noon EST, 9AM PST. Keep track of the latest releases with the 2008 edition of What's New on VC? in the Wii Virtual Console forum.

Nintendo, the only words I have to offer you now are: Grow a pair. You have a much larger market here in America. Is it NOT obvious to release it here first? Is it NOT common sense? *bleep* you.

Neither of the two games are even worth spending points on. And specially not SPOGS apparently. IGN Wii gave it a 1.9 and called it the "ugliest Wii game." I've never really seen them give a score below 3, so this must be a pretty horrible game. Nintendo really has to do something about the quality of games on the Wii and not just let all this shovelware slide in.
