At the Square Enix Members Virtual World Special Preview Event last night, the RPG powerhouse Square Enix announced two new games for the Nintendo DS. Both will star everyone's favorite little bird, Chocobo, which will no doubt become quality additions to the DS library.
The first game revealed is Cid and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon: Maze of Time DS+, which will be a port of the Wii title Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon. Like the original, this game is a roguelike, and will feature randomized dungeons with that classic Mystery Dungeon gameplay. Also available through the site is a poll where Japanese Square Enix Members can vote for which job they would like to see in the game; the choices are Red Mage, Summoner, Engineer, Hero X, and Time Mage. Exclusive to the DS will be an additional story mode from Cid's viewpoint and the aforementioned new job. It is set to release in Japan this fall.
The other game is Chocobo and the Magic Storybook - The Witch and the Girl and the Five Heroes, which will most likely be related to Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Tales, which was also for the DS. The game has been billed as an adventure title, and not much more is known. It is set to release this Winter in Japan.
