Max Payne is currently scheduled for release into theatres in October 2008. The film adaptation to the mega-hit "film-noir love story" stars Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne, Mila Kunis as Mona Sax, and Ludacris as Jim Bravura (boo!). Original videogame writer Sam Lake has written the story (but not the screenplay) and reportedly has a cameo in the final film.
More info on the movie's cast here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0467197/
This is not the "Payne and Redemption" fan movie being made. This is the official theatrical film.

Am I the only one who doesn't think this looks very good? I absolutely LOVED Max Payne. It's probably my third favorite videogame series, but I dunno about this.
I just hope this brings a third sequel to the games. I already can't wait to see Vlad in the second Max Payne movie(which I'm sure they'll make).
This looks like Constantine-meets-Sin City to me. That's a compliment coming from me.
Also, Mila Kunis as Mona? She's hot but....I don't know about her being Mona. I look foward to her being half-naked in the next movie(there's a shower scene with Mona in MP2).
That is being marked in my calendar.
