Yes you have not misread the title and this time (for once) the title explains the story within a few words truthfully.

Just when we thought Developers have given up trying to be original a new title gets announced which may quite possibly contain the most original idea ever for a game.

A new game was announced in Japan the other day called The Last Guy and it took a while for people to translate it and for the news to reach these shores. Details a very scarse but apparently Sony are going to incorporate Google Earth into a game. Using the famous Google Earth with it's top down view we need to rescue people from attacking zombies... or something like that.
Anyway check out the image, the source and also the video at the alternate source (although the video at the alternate source is not in English). The alternate source is the Official Site for this game but it's not in English.

If it was up to me (and it's not), and I could combine Google Earth with one thing, I would combine it with zombies. Well, that's EXACTLY what upcoming Sony Computer Entertainment title The Last Guy does — it's like they read my brain! Details are scant, but the top-down PS3 game has players use Google Earth to rescue large numbers of people by having them follow you to safe escape zones and avoiding gray matter eating zombies. Sounds like it'll be a PSN game and sounds like it will be totally awesome.

Sounds like a generic flash "Zombie Simulator" that I've seen around. C'mon! Where the *bleep* is Dead Rising 2?

Hmmm, I actually find this very interesting. It's original enough to warrant a look at.

Laughffle, I'm having a hard time believing that even Valve can top Capcom's zombie masterpiece in the same genre...but hey, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Then again, one is a Co-op shooter and the other's an action/adventure...with tons of shit to do...
