Go!View PSP video service launches in UK and Ireland

chautemoc | July 14, 2008 | News | Playstation Portable
That PSP video service we mentioned back in April has launched today in the UK and Ireland. Go!View (the service) represents a partnership with Sky (Sky One, I'm assuming), a satellite TV provider in the region, allowing PSP owners to watch TV, films and sports on their system.

Now where the heck is this kind of thing for DS owners, hm? I believe something similar was launched in Japan for Nintendo's handheld and it was very successful; do you think it'd do well in North America?
A simple trip to the Go!View website will give you access to all this content. Plus, there's a one-month free trial available for everyone that registers.

Comedy, sport and entertainment packs will be available through monthly subscription, while selected TV series and films can be transferred via the site's rental service. One pack will set you back £5 a month, two packs are £8 and all three are £10 a month.

Rental TV, meanwhile, is available from £1.50 per episode and films from £2.50 each. All of these are available to try as part of the free trial.

Through agreements with broadcasters such BBC Worldwide, Sky Sports and National Geographic, a range of content will be available to download. Including series' such as Lost and Desperate Housewives and FA Premier League football matches.

Sony promises the range of content available will constantly grow between now and the autumn, too.

In the meantime, though, what are you waiting for? Free TV awaits for PSP owners. Get over to the site now.
