At Microsoft's E3 2008 Press Conference, Microsoft revealed that there are now over 12 million users on Xbox Live, which is a big improvement from the 6 million they had last year. Microsoft also said that a new Xbox Live member is added about every five seconds! If that wasn't enough for you, since November '05, over one billion dollars has been spent on content coming from Xbox Live! Also, with the new contract Microsoft signed with NBC Universal, which allows Microsoft to offer shows from the NBC, USA, and Sci-Fi channels, you can be sure to expect that one billion dollar stat to rise.
At the E3 2008 Microsoft Press Conference, Don Mattrick showcased the growth of Xbox Live over the last year.
According to Microsoft, there are over 12 million users on Xbox Live, up from 6 million reported last year.
A new Xbox Live member is added every five seconds.
Since November 2005 over a $1 billion has been spent on Xbox Live content.
There have been 500 million pieces of content downloaded on Live and over 10,000 movies and television shows are available for download.
Mattrick also announced that Microsoft now has a contract with NBC Universal and will offers shows from NBC, Sci-Fi and USA. Clips from the Office, 30 Rock, and Battlestar Galactica were shown.
