And also they're just as money hungry as Capcom.
What was Square thinking??
Still good for them, but still....
If they had come out and said it right at the start I doubt many would be so pissed.
This one was from E3 06, nothing about exclusivity even mentioned.

Any other trailers than that Absolute? That leaves alot to the imagination
A more recent one, again, it does say "For Playstation 3" But no where does it say exclusive. The only "proof" I have found is that link to kotaku provided above.
However, a google search pulled that Square was dropping hints as early as April 07.

The article written at Kotaku provided no video link, and only taking the word of a guy who said the words "For PS3 Only" flashed after the trailer.
FFXIII seemed to only be branded exclusive by fans, and at every turn Square bluntly denied exclusivility.
Even if they never said it was exclusive they might as well have, you don't let rumors like that run around for 2 years and get everybody's hopes up only to dash them like that. I think Square fully intended it as a exclusive but sold out to Microsoft not long before E3.
Again, nowhere was it confirmed as an exclusive, everyone just expected it to be, because FF has always been a a Sony-Based game.
But that is also because Sony held the market on consoles for quite some time, this gen changed that, so they simply made it multi-platform so they can sell more copies.
Keep in mind that FF was a Nintendo game, but they "sold out" to Sony when they saw the PS1.
