Mass Effect Potentially Coming To Other Systems?

NSX | July 23, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 3
Mass Effect was believed to be only an Xbox 360 exclusive, but after recent reports have surfaced it seems as though other versions of the game are on the way.
"According to the eloquently named Australian blog, XboxOZ360-gamer, BioWare bigwig Ray Muzyka told Australian 360 magazine that the RPG developer was committed to bringing the Mass Effect trilogy exclusively to the Xbox 360. Yeah, not so much."

    This is unexpected.

Come to think of it, I have yet to see a Bioware game that hasn't been released on the PC or Xbox before.

?? I dont get it? The title of the article in the source says:

Bioware: Mass Effect Trilogy Exclusive to 360 - Mass Effect 2 in ‘09

And it says : "This is great news for 360 gamers who had feared a different outcome as a result of Bioware being purchased by EA, and is a stark contrast to more recent announcements concerning other third party titles going multiplatform such as Bioware’s Dragon Age and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII.

Not only will the trilogy stay exclusive to the 360, but it will be released entirely on the 360 platform. "

That's odd because when I first posted that news story the article structure was totally different.

UPDATE: At the request of Bioware Erik Einsiedel, we would like to publicly retract the comment that Ray Muzyka supposedly made re Mass Effect being Exclusive; to the Xbox360. His actual comment (seen above) did not include the word exclusive and thus we gladly retract that statement. We'd like to point out however, we simply commented on an article that appeared in the printed media (X360 Magazine Australia which is a sister publication to the UK parent Company under license with Derwent Howard here in Australia) and did not fabricate the comments.

And while his comment is clearly seen as supporting the trilogy on the Xbox 360 for its entirety and beyond, the word exclusive was not used, all be it inferred. So we appologize for that.
They crossed out the Exclusive in the title.

Is this what gave you the idea of it possibly being Multiplat?

The article from an hour ago when I posted it said that it wasn't exclusive but the ones that you and slumpy monkey read were different articles.

Well it does not say anything about it going to other platforms, All it says it that there was confusion over the guy saying mass effect is 360 exclusive, which its not as it is on PC.

I see as them not saying mass effect is xbox exclusive as its on PC too, Not as them hinting at it going Ps3 or god forbid, Wii.

Plus there is absolutely NOTHING in there to think that Bioware are making other versions of Mass effect.

Bioware was bought by EA. Bioware was planning on making Mass Effect a trilogy exclusive to 360, not including PC since usually exclusivity is more specifically a console debate. Since EA bought it people think EA is going to force them to make Mass Effect multiplatform. Hence rumors.

Yeah the article changed from when I first posted it. About an hour after it was approved I checked the same article and it was totally different. I posted a link in one of the replies above that was the original article.

I doubt that it will go multiplatform. Microsoft would pay to keep Mass Effect to the Xbox 360 and PC. It's one of their huge titles.

2.01m on the 360 according to VG charts, and that must be an old statistic as they haven't even got the PC sales up. Not to mention the scores of high reviews.

      It IS a huge title.

It's probably the best RPG I've played this generation.
