Rhys Cash, Capcom UK's research and planning manager, revealed that Capcom have no intentions of cutting out any gore in Resident Evil 5 just to get a lower rating. They want the game to be nice and gory, and if RE5 ends up being 18+ then so be it.

Capcom has promised that Resident Evil 5 is not about to shy away from gore in a bid to get a lower age certification.

“We’re never going to create a gore-free Resident Evil title to try and get a lower rating as it’s a game about the horror experience and gore is part of that,” said Rhys Cash, Capcom UK's research and planning manager.

“We’re primarily about making great games and if it’s appropriate to the title we won’t shy away from making a 15+ or 18+ title.”

    good
mind you, Aus. may have a problem with this game, due to the rating system

I doubt it. Games given an American 18+/17+ rating usually recieve an Australian 15+ rating. Our rating system is alot more lax in that area. (so far we've only had around four games banned over here, so it's hardly the big deal that sites make it out to be).

Just like Eu ratings compared to ours. It's amazing how many games that are 18+ in Eu are only 15+ here.

That's probably just because you don't have an 18 rating, so things on the border will be bumped up to an 18 here and left as a 15 in Australia.

That said, Mass Effect's a 12 here, despite the fact it contains hardcore interspecies rape simulation.

I doubt there will be any issues with RE5 here in Aus.Games can be VERY gory here and not be RC (refused classification). It's usually only when the violence is VERY realistic or when there is large amounts of screaming in pain.As long as the victims are relatively quite when being dismembered, then it seems to be ok lol.

or if they use drugs like in fallout.

Actually that seems to depend on how "explicit" the drug use is.There are other games where the main character uses drugs, that haven't been refused classification. But also it seems to not matter if the drug isn't a real one ie. Haze.

THANKYOU. Resident Evil 4 wouldn't be half as good as it was if there wasn't any gore.

They'll change their mind when they're only able to ship in limited areas.

They'd literally cut NA out if it's 18+

if by NA you mean north america, you are very wrong. im in north america and will buy this game regardless of rating. so will a lot of others. people who are to young to play might not get it, but thats why we have a rating system.
