Ubisoft is going to bring a music based game called "Jam Sessions" to the DS, where you use the touch screen to strum a guitar.

Ubisoft has revealed it's bringing Jam Sessions to DS - a music game where you strum a guitar using the touch screen to play along with tunes or create your own amazing compositions.

Released in Japan under the snappy title of Hiite Utaeru DS Guitar M-06, Jam Sessions sees players plucking strings on the bottom screen, producing authentic sounds digitally re-mastered from an actual acoustic guitar.

One of the game's most interesting features is the ability to record your own songs and play them back whenever you want. According to Ubisoft this makes it "a complete concert-on-the-go entertainment system, perfect for parties and other social gatherings". We can't wait to go to our first Jam Session party.

There are three modes for wannabe guitarists - Performance mode, where you can play along to tracks from classic and modern artists; Free-Play mode, offering plenty of improve opportunities and Tutorial mode, which helps novice musicians learn to play the guitar.

Jam Sessions is set for release in Europe this summer.
