Bungie president unhappy about Microsoft delaying their game reveal at E3 08

RKRigney | July 24, 2008 | News | XBOX 360 E3 2008
Despite reports that he "laughed" when told that his game wasn't going to be announced at E3, Bungie's president, Harold Ryan, claims that he was upset about the whole ordeal.
"Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter."

    He should be.
Its a bit like a slap in the face, especially after they got it all prepared and were anticipating the public's reaction.

And it's not like Bungie didn't make MS a shit ton of money last year either. Bungie should have priority in MS's line-ups if you ask me.

That sucks. With the long relationship that they've had, I thought M$ wouldn't have had a problem with this. Did they think that Gears 2 and other previews were going to over-shadow Bungie's work?

Microsoft said it was so they can show it later this year with a playable demo.

Well maybe MS knows something we don't. As we've seen, they are very sensitive with the timing of announcements.

This is why I love bugie, but hate M$... Bungie actually cares about their fans, while microsoft doesn't care at all as long as they get the bucks...

Yeah, because MS is so horrible. They should totally, oh I dunno give a free warranty to all those affected by the RRoD. Cheap bastards....oh, wait...

But yeah, I do agree with Bungie's president being pissed, I would be too.

I rarely call anyone a fanboy just because I think the term is over used and has lost it's meaning, but you have to be a tool to praise Microsoft for the warranty deal. Anyone who can even partially read between the lines knows that Microsoft HAS to do something big like this just to save face. They lied about the problem forever and had bad customer service on top of it. If they didn't fix their own shit, literally, they could easily have lost a lot of support.

All I was trying to say is that MS obviously cares about their fans as much as anyone else does, so you can take that "tool" comment and shove it up your ass.

caliginous is actually right. I mean while Bungie was owned by Microsoft, Halo turned into Microsoft's golden egg and turned out just whatever.

MS is horrible, they decided to give free warranty because its the right thing to do, and if they didn't they'll lose alot of customers both current and potential.

So you guys left Microsoft to be free of control and to call your own shots, but you're upset that Microsoft ruined your showing. Maybe you should have just moved on from Halo.
