A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin shows that Wii Sports, the sports game published and developed by Nintendo, is helping adults burn calories for adults. Baseball, tennis, and bowling can burn up to 3.9 to 10.2 calories a minute. The highest calorie burner was boxing, burning 216 calories in 30 minutes and the lowest was golf, which burned only 117 calories. However, Cordero McCalure, a GameStop employee, said that no kids come looking for Wii games and Best Buy employees stated the same thing, although it is unclear whether or not the adults are buying the games for their kids.

Wii Sports, the popular sports simulation video game, may get you sweating, but it's still no substitute for the gym.

That's the conclusion of a study sponsored by The American Council on Exercise (ACE), which has just announced it's research findings.

Conducted exclusively by University of Wisconsin, La Crosse Exercise and Health Program, the study, released Tuesday, shows that playing the five Wii games – golf, tennis, baseball, bowling and boxing – will burn anywhere from 3.9 to 10.2 calories per minute.

Lulz better games? PS3 has better games than Wii, 360 has better games than Wii, hell PSP has better games then Wii.

Wii's library is filled with the like of Wii sports, Wii fit, and now Wii music. Wii barely more than 7 MUST buy titles.

I'm surprised at how baseball and bowling are basically identical because from what I've experience baseball takes more involvement. Also, I'm surprised how close baseball is to tennis because if you're playing tennis with more than two people it's definitely more involving.

Nintendo wiis lets be honest are definitely aimed for the younger generation and whenever i ask ma friends at school if they still play on their wiis they all say no it shit. and they are all about 15 ish

but i like the idea very much of wii sports and also wii fit because its actually doing the player some good instead of just sitting in-front of a TV keeps you more active.

my favrouite wii games have to be zelda and mario cart
