Marvel says new Marvel vs. Capcom game coming

One of the fighting genre's most beloved arcade fighters, Marvel vs. Capcom, looks like it'll be getting a fresh new game in the series. When Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel Studios was questioned about if there'd be a new installment, he said, "Yes. And maybe sooner than you think."

Question is, will it be pure 2D, or work more like Street Fighter IV?

[T]his doesn't confirm the existence of a new Marvel vs. Capcom title, but it's certainly something to hang on to until a meaningful announcement is made one way or the other. We'll have more on this as it develops.

    ...No way. So Marvel and Capcom finally came to an agreement again? Did Hell freeze over?

    Great news for us, though (hopefully a solid announcement will be made). How cool would it be to have double/triple the roster and maybe even online play for a MvC3. Still play the series with friends, hope to see some more info on this soon. Please...for the love of God, stay 2D.

    and to add, if you ask me, Crapcom really needs to go seek out some MUGEN editors. They have run circles around their own character creations and really have helped keep the Marvel vs Capcom fanfare alive in their own right.

      Very true. They put a lot of time into their sprites and such, (I've attempted it, so I know from experience how long and hard it can be to create/edit these characters and getting them just right) so Capcom should definitely look into these editors.

    I love MvC2. I still play it periodically when my friends want to play fighting games with characters they actually know and recognize. Really, I've been waiting for this news for years.

    I can't believe it! It must be the end of the world!

    Hopefully they'll use the Tasunoko vs Capcom graphics
    and not ruin the MvC series by makin it 3d, and c'mon
    we all know Capcom SUCKS at making 3d fighting games,
    but that's just my opinion

    MvC2 was one of my favorites and played it alot. I wish I still had it, but somehow its lost. Anyway I would love a MvC3. Keep everyone from MvC2, and just add bigger rosters. Man sounds epic.

    Wow, I was just thinking about an MvC game the other day. I played the original MvC and thought it was amazing. I never got to try MvC2 since I never had a Dreamcast, but I've heard praises about the game. I suppose that they're trying to retaliate against the DC vs. MK game.

    If this turns out to be a false rumor, I will be royally pissed.

    Okay, now... I'm praying for Albert Wesker and Ghost Rider to be playable.

    The games were getting, boring, but ok, sounds good to me, I want Zero and X from Mega Man, Leon, Wesker, and Chris, from Resident Evil, never played Devil May Cry, but the characters, Dante and Vergil, and Samanosuke from Onimusha. For Marvel, Iron Man, Blade, and Carnage, I like Venom better, he is in the game, but Carnage should be in to, or did have them already I forgot, it's been a while

    And the worst idea of other fighting games

    Star Wars in Soul Calibur IV

    And Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

    However SC IV will kick ass, and not MK vs DC

      All cross-overs have potential, except when the Force is the main driving point. BTW, Iron Man was in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

    This would be so cool if it happens. Onimusha, Resident evil 4, devil may cry...and there could be a lot more marvels characters in it too. I love MvC2: New Age of Heroes. I still play it.

          Funny how it was going to be removed regardless of whether I liked it or not, so your points are truly moot on that Gamesta.

          Fact is his comment and mine got thumbed down cause we was happy about a new game and can't wait. Please give me a viable reason why those two posts should be thumbed down, when many has stated the same thing only to be thumbed up? See thats exactly the reason why it got removed in the first place.
