COMIC-CON: Gears of War Necessary For Some GOW2 Achievements & Unlockables

At this years Comic-Con, CliffyB revealed unlockables that require Gears Of War 1 to be played. Meaning the following objectives completed in Gears of War 1 will automatically unlock characters in Gears 2:

- Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2
- Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2
- Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2

    Wait, but if General RAAM was killed in the first Gears, then how would a playable version of him work in the game's plot ?

      Carmine was killed too, and I may be mistaken but wasn't Kim too?I think these are just skins for the character, either in main campaign or in multiplayer, or both.

        It's likely just for Multiplayer. Bringing them back for the campaign just wouldn't make sense...well all except Carmine.

    I wouldn't be surprised if you're able to play the skins in the new survivor mode, or whatever the proper name is. Maybe in multiplayer too, but I'm doubtful about the campaign.

    Either way, cool news.

    All 3 of them are killed. Kim is killed by RAAM I think near the end of Act I.

    This isn't really surprising seeing how with previous Ratchet and Clank games, to get certain 'discounts' and the likes, you had to have game saves for the previous version, I'd expect the same thing in the next R&C game as well.

    Seeing this brought to Achievements is a smart move in my opinion. It will get people playing older versions of the games, and understanding the stories more.

        The title of this article says Gears one is neccasary for Gears two achievements, but there is no mention of getting achievements in Gears 2 for having played Gears 1, only unlocking characters.

    I personally think it is a good idea beacause it engourages people to go back and play gears of war. but i have alredi got all the achievments for gow eniway so i dose not really affect me
