Red Steel 2 Confirmed; Will Use Wii MotionPlus

Akira_EX | July 28, 2008 | News | Wii
In an interview with industry newssite GamesIndustry, Ubisoft's executive director Alain Corre confirmed that there is a Red Steel 2 in development, and will make use of Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus 1:1 accessory that the company revealed at the E3 Media & Business Summit a couple weeks ago.

Corre hopes that with the Wii MotionPlus, they could rectify the mistakes that plagued the original Red Steel, which launched with the Wii back in November of 2006.

Ubisoft is one of the first publishers to confirm the use of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral to improve the execution of its core Wii titles.

Adopting the tech for the sequel to Red Steel, Alain Corre, Ubisoft's executive director, has said the improvement of 3D motions will help the sequel achieve the ambitious gameplay attempted in the first game.

"Red Steel 2 has been in development for many months now, and this new device will help us be even more precise in what we do with the product," said Corre, speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz.

It better not be a direct sequel i do not want to have to complete Red Steel just to understand Red Steel 2. I only want to try 1:1 i don't want to have to play last gen motion to experience the best of next gen motion.

No it's not what i said at all, in nicer words i said i am not going to play a shit game just to enjoy the sequel, so i hope they don't have a continual story like say Metal Gear or any other complex game.

You are acting like its as bad as Wand of Gamelon. Really, its a decent game. It is possible to enjoy a game that is not rated a 9+/10 you know.

Red Steel wasn't total shit. It just wasn't the best shooter on earth.

This next one will be much better though.

    I liked Red Steel.

Hopefully this is better though; I agree that the controls weren't exemplary.
