Nintendo has partnered with photo company Fujifilm, launching a service in Japan. This one allows Wii owners upload photos to the Wii Photo Channel and print them via the console. Also available are "Wii Name Cards", which are essentially business cards, and "Wii Photobooks." Prices can be found via the digitalcamerainfo source to the right.

The service is expected to go global, but no dates are set yet. Keep your eyes peeled!

The so-called "Digital Camera Print Channel" (English name still tentative) has made its launch in Japan. Japanese Wii owners will be able to use the channel to order digital photo prints (currently only available in 89 x 127mm sizes). The channel can also be used to order original “Wii Photobooks” (English name still tentative), which are available in several versions (including Wii character-themed books).

"Wii Name Cards" (English name still tentative) are also available to Japanese consumers. These are like business cards, and can be printed with a photo or a Mii using a choice of six templates (including Super Mario series characters).

Customers can send their photos and order information via this channel to Fujifilm for production and delivery. Fujifilm will also operate the payment system. Please note that Wii points are not acceptable for payment—only credit cards.

Fujifilm plans to exhibit this channel at Photokina, which will be held in Germany this September.

I don't really care about Sony and Microsoft. I only like to play Nintendo games and SOME Sony games.
