Is there a correlation between video game use and nightmares? Pfft, bloody hell no!
According to a German study of 250 students aged nine to 13, no correlation was found between the amount of TV watching and game playing. They did however find a link between reading and nightmares, but Michael Schredl, head researcher for the study, cautioned that the sample size was too small to make definitive conclusions.

it's a *bleep*ing video game.
if it said, based on a true story, and the game looked like it was for matures only, go back to game stop, best buy or whatever you bought the game and return it immediately. no need for for another nightmare drama trauma.
Scary movies give people nightmares. Scary books give people nightmares. But that doesn't mean the movies or books are bad. It just means they have achieved their goal in leaving an impact.
(when I was younger I had nightmares about Resident Evil's Nemesis and Fatal Frame's ghosts chasing me and/or killing me... where did they come from if there's no connection between games and nightmares?)
When I read the bit about no connection between video games and nightmares, I was like...."WTF?". Just like horror movies and a good scary story, people can have nightmares about it....
Are they trying to say I can plop my scaredy-cat brother in front of my TV (with a 5.1 sound system, for auditory immersion), and have him play Fatal Frame 2, and he won't, possibly, get nightmares?
Mind you, I don't get nightmares (can't remember the last proper nightmare I've had....seriously, it has probably been 10 years or more....)....But that is me, not everybody >_>
Terrible I tell ya, haha. But I still love RE.
First of all, I was suprised at how short the actual article was. And to say that there is absolutly no connections between video games and nightmares is really idiotic. Makes me wanna take my friend and make her play resident evil just to test this myself...(just the blood in a game like Tony Hawk is enough to scare her, sad)
The first time I ever saw someone play resident evil (I think I was like, 6 or 7) I know I had nightmares about it. But I do ocasionally dream about video games (one time I had a dream about Spyro in the world of Kingdom Hearts
