Australian Game Sales: July 21st - 27th

Tyranitar24 | July 31, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 2
Another week has passed and the Australian games sales are in! In first place is the DS game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, second is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the Wii, and third is the Wii Play Bundle! The interesting thing about the overall game sales (first one listed in the article) is that almost everything is either a Wii or a DS game, except for the SingStar Party Hits bundle for the PS2, which is in fifth place. This data was supplied by GfK Australia.
With just over a week to go until the official opening of the Beijing Olympic Games, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the Nintendo DS is already waving the flag, claiming the top spot in the Aussie sales charts according to data trackers GfK. A spokesperson for GfK Australia confirmed to GameSpot AU that the spike can be attributed to last week's Target offer, which bundled the game with Nintendo DS consoles.

Second place for the week of July 21-27 went to Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the Wii, which was also bundled with the Wii in last week's Target catalogue. The Wii Play bundle, which comes with a Wii Remote, came in at third, while Wii Fit sits just below it in fourth. Taking out the fifth spot was the SingStar Party Hits bundle on the PlayStation 2. Mario Kart Wii fell three spots from last week, taking out the sixth place. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? can be found in seventh spot, with Super Smash Bros. sitting behind it in eighth. More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? moved up one position, to take out the ninth spot. Tenth place went to the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
