Final Fantasy XIII will be released on 360 in Asia ... But not Japan

At a recent Microsoft game exhibition in Taipei, Square Enix announced that the XBox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will also be released in Asia, (not only North America and Europe as previously revealed). This leaves Square Enix's home country Japan as one of the few countries that will not recieve the 360 version of the game.

Soul Calibur IV recently sold well in Japan on both the PS3 and 360, clearly showing that Japanese 360 owners are eager to buy popular titles for their console. It seems almost strange that Square Enix would not follow a similar route and release both versions of FFXIII in Japan.

During E3, Microsoft announced that Final Fantasy XIII was coming to the Xbox 360 — but only for North America and Europe. However, the Xbox 360 was not announced for Japan. Add another country to the list!

At a recent Microsoft game exhibition in Taipei, Microsoft Taiwan's Entertainment and Devices Division head Grace Chou announced that Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360 would go on sale in Taiwan, but haven't yet decided which localized version will be launched for the Asian territories.

I'm still a bit shocked by all the PSP support, and the XIII Versus still being PS3 exclusive........I'm sure that will all change, and I'm sure there will be a 360 Jp release of XIII as well.

Soul Calibur sold well on 360 in Japan, but it obviously sold to people who already own a 360 in Japan, i.e nobody.
