Rumour: "Medal of Honor" Doing A Modern Warfare?

tidus04 | August 06, 2008 | News | PC Playstation 2
It looks like Electronic Arts may be planning a shock move with there next MOH project in which it is rumoured that they are doing a modern day project based on the 2002 Anaconda operation of Afghanistan. In addition to this it is also rumoured that there is going to be over 60 customizable weapons available at your dispense through the game. Though in order to keep loyal to the previous MOH titles they are going to be focusing the single player campaign all on historical events to keep that old MOH feel.
Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare might be getting more compliments, this time from Electronic Arts. Rumor has it that the next installment of their WWII FPS series, Medal of Honor, will set foot in modern day Afghanistan, based on the military's "Anaconda" operation in 2002.

Much like Call of Duty 4's deviation from the traditional World War II setting, the rumored Medal of Honor game will be use current weaponry (reported over 60 customizable weapons) and settings. However, unlike Infinity Ward's latest shooter, the new MoH's single player campaign will focus on historical events.

Well, with the huge success with Call of Duty 4, it doesn't surprise me that more developers are going to do more modern shooters instead of sci-fi or WWII ones.

The idea of a game set in Afghanistan sounds interesting. Nobody's tried that before.

Wasn't America's Most Wanted (that failed game) set there or was that in Iraq?

Either way I hope this does follow the trend off COD4 as that worked wonders so hopefully this will do the same ^^

Pretty weird, MoH influenced by its own spin off series. Then again, CoD had surpassed MoH a long time ago.

I reckon Afghanistan could be an awesome location for one of these games.

    I'm interested.
